Games like terraria3/24/2023 ![]() It's easy to neglect the main story for a long time and just focus on doing whatever you want, you can waste hundreds of hours just doing sandbox activities. Open-ended crafting where you can personalize weapons, armor, even build robots with the right DLC. Very fun fluid combat system.įallout 4 gets a lot of hate for it's story/lore but in terms of it's gameplay loop it has a very fun and interesting base-building mechanic as well as a huge ton of things to do. Cool progression mechanics, and is open ended without strict storyline.ĭragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a story-based RPG set in a (smaller) open world however it has a ton of ways to customize and improve your party to the point that you can spend the majority of the game ignoring the story and progressing your characters and upgrading them. Kenshi is an open world RPG without a core story where you can be whatever you want. Has a ton of cool mechanics, base building, ship upgrading, crews, collections, and a ton of procedurally generated planets with different biomes to explore. There's a story you can follow through the game but you can just as well ignore it or finish and keep playing. ![]() Starbound is compared quite a bit to Terraria and I feel it is VERY worth playing and has a ton of great content with endless playability.
